Nature Encounters at the Ohio Bird Sanctuary

Each Saturday the Ohio Bird Sanctuary offers free "Nature Encounters".  Come enjoy a short presentation by one of the volunteers or staff starring one of the resident birds that have come to the sanctuary and could not be released back into the wild after rehabilitation.

You will learn about the species, what they eat, how they hunt, how they live, and their typical activities in the wild.



The Ohio Bird Sanctuary is a 501(3) non-profit organization which is dedicated to the rehabilitation of Ohio's native birds of prey and songbirds, with an emphasis on educating the community about conservation of our natural resources.

The Bird Sanctuary is open to the public and encompasses over 90 acres including; hiking trails, live bird of prey displays, and a walk-through songbird aviary. Visitors can purchase a small cup of meal worms in the Visitor Center and hand feed the aviary residents.
 

Visitor Center, Displays and Trail Open Hours

  • Monday - Visitor Center, Displays and Trails closed
  • Tuesday through Saturday - 10:00am to 4:00pm
  • Sunday - Noon to 4:00pm

 DAILY ADMISSION IS FREE: DONATIONS WELCOMED!
