Mansfield, OH: Mansfield Murals Inc. is excited to announce some exciting new additions to the neighborhood, in the form of historical art murals in Mansfield!
Check out these Three Historical Views based on Painted Postcards of Mansfield Ohio.
These murals are visible on the corner of Third Street and Main Street in Downtown Mansfield, and thanks to Jeff Delianides at Crowe's Shoes, and our partnership with Joseph Fahey at OSU-Mansfield Theatre in their stage production of 'Our Town'.
Research was partnered with Mansfield Memorial Museum, to adapt three painted postcard scenes of Mansfield including: A View of Third and Main Street, A View of Central Park, & A View of B&O Mansfield Railroad Station.
Additional research was conducted at The Sherman Room at Mansfield Richland County Public Library, to replicate the front page of the Newspaper on New Years Eve of 1933. This Newspaper has both 'Mansfield Journal' and 'The Mansfield News' headers, prior to their merging in 1933 to become the Mansfield News Journal.
This series of three murals were painted by local artist SAM NEER, 20, and accomplished in oil paint. These have been weatherproofed and graffiti-proofed as part of a permanent installation.
As a part of Mansfield Murals Inc nonprofit missions in Downtown Revitalization, and Murals In Education, these 'Our Town' Historical Painted Postcard Murals can give neighboring businesses, residents and visiting onlookers a glimpse back into time in Mansfield.
