Wildflower Extravaganza
The Shelby Wetlands is a hidden treasure, with a stunning wildflower display that has to be seen to believe. Carpets of Great White Trillium, Virginia Bluebells, and Wild Hyacinth festoon the forest floor, sharing the area with over 30 species of spring, ephemeral wildflowers. The property contains, river oxbows, vernal pools, and swamp forest, as well as drier upland habitats and the Black Fork River. The plant and wildlife diversity, located in this natural history gem, is simply incredible.
Guided tours will leave the parking lot at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and will last between one and two hours.
Dress for the weather and wear proper footwear, as the hikes will take place rain-or-shine.
The area has a wonderful trail system, but boots may be needed if it has been a wet spring.
Don't miss this special event!
