Join Just Walk Richland, Richland Moves and North Central Ohio Land Conservancy, Inc. as they hike the entire 8+ mile ClearFork Valley Scenic Trail and enjoy a picnic break in the middle.

They will traverse old growth forest, tall grass prairies, gentle streams, and Black Hand Sandstone outcroppings, among other natural wonders.

The picnic break will be held at the forested First Congregational Church camp picnic area. NCOLC will provide hot dogs, buns, salad and water refills. Please bring your own beverage plus a dessert, side dish, or snack to share.

The hike kicks off at 1:45pm. Park at the northern trail head, which is at the Newville Bridge parking lot (S.R. 95 at Pleasant Hill Road). They will ride share to the southern trail head at the Clear Fork Adventure Resort and start walking from there. At the end of the hike, they will ride share back to the southern trail head to get the cars left there.

They will walk in groups at a moderate fitness pace. The trail is hilly with small streams to cross. Bring your water jug, bug spray, hat, etc.

Prepare for the weather – light rain won’t stop us – and wear shoes suitable for uneven surfaces.
